Stop Abuse Campaign
Feb 7, 2017
Thank you for being one of the 69,000 people to sign this petition. The major opponent to passage of the Child Victims Act is the Roman Catholic Church. If you have ever wondered why, this story breaking out of Australia may provide some answers. Australia's Royal Commission on Institutional Child Sexual Abuse has released some shocking numbers: Seven per cent of Australia’s Catholic priests were accused of abusing children in the six decades since 1950, according to new data from the royal commission. 37% of all private sessions royal commission held with survivors related to the Catholic church. The average age of alleged victims was 10.5 for girls and just over 11.5 for boys. In one order 40% of religious brothers are believed to have abused children. Is Cardinal Dolan protecting children or protecting the church's sexual predators and the reputation of his church? Please ask just one friend to add their name to the petition today. Just one. If we all do this we will send a clear signal to Albany and the Church, we believe in protecting children. Thanks!
