Tomorrow, March 2nd, I will officially submit the request form and the list of signers to Governor Yuriko Koike (through the Land Use Planning Division of the Urban Development Policy Department of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government).

Afterwards, a press conference will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Press Club at 4:00 pm. You can view the press conference via Zoom from this link:

I plan to conduct the press conference in both Japanese and English.

If you have any connections with the media, please let them know about this press conference.

We want to get as many signatures as possible before tomorrow. This is our last push! We are currently at 51,700 signatures and hope to reach 55,000.

Please help us spread the word even further by posting on social media again, emailing everyone you know, etc.!

And finally, about the photo below. I took the aerial photo of Jingu Gaien that was in the HuffPost article the other day and shaded in the trees that are going to be cut down (by referring to the diagram made by Professor Ishikawa of Chuo University).

That’s a lot of trees that are going to be cut down. Which would be a tragic waste. That’s why I started this petition.

Governor Koike can choose to protect these trees, with a single decision. Let’s let her know what we think!
