Irwin County Georgia is currently the target for the next GOOGLE data center. The proposed facility will harbor a 1 GW data center, the building covering 25-50 acres. This will have multiple negative effects on our environment and community. Local farmers, hunters, and citizens will be impacted. Electricity bills WILL rise. Property values WILL drop. Constant noise, light, air, and water pollution should be a concern for everyone, not just those neighboring the site. Construction will take YEARS. We are promised 300 permanent jobs, that is a lie. Most jobs in these facilities are remote specialized jobs, thus Irwin County residents will likely not be employed in this facility.
