Protect Innocent lives in Artibonite, Liancourt, Haiti

The Issue

I have been deeply connected to the community of Artibonite, Liancourt in Haiti for many years. Recently, we have witnessed an alarming escalation of violence and instability, forcing our families and loved ones to live in constant fear and uncertainty. As someone who cherishes this beautiful region and its resilient people, I am moved to speak up because the situation is becoming untenable.

Artibonite's people, like millions of others in Haiti, deserve to live peaceful lives free from violence. Yet, ongoing conflicts have turned daily life into a struggle for survival. According to reports from humanitarian organizations, the number of violent incidents has increased dramatically, affecting thousands of civilians, and leading to significant internal displacement.

We urgently need the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Members of the U.S. Congress, and the United Nations Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) in Haiti to take immediate and decisive action. Their influence and resources can play an integral part in establishing security measures that will protect civilians and restore stability to the area.

The international community has a responsibility to ensure peace and security, and by prioritizing the lives of civilians in Artibonite, Liancourt, they can send a powerful signal that violence will not overshadow human rights. Specifically, we call upon these leaders to facilitate increased humanitarian assistance, strengthen peacekeeping efforts, and support grassroots initiatives that foster community resilience and conflict resolution.

We cannot stand idly by while innocent people continue to suffer, houses are being burned, innocent families, children, women and the elderly are being burned alive and taken advantage of. The time to act is now. Together, let's urge world leaders to support the people of Artibonite and help rebuild the safety and stability of their communities. Please sign this petition to demand immediate action and support for those in need.
