Hi everyone,

I’m sharing this update with a very heavy heart. After a great deal of thought, I’ve had to make the incredibly difficult decision to close Tan’s Coffee Box. My final day of trading will be 4th April.

This isn’t a choice I ever wanted to make. Unfortunately, the ongoing challenges and rising council fees have made it impossible for me to continue making a living from the business I’ve poured my heart into.

What began as a little coffee box grew into something truly special — a community, a family, and a place where I’ve made lifelong friends. Being part of the St Luke’s community has meant everything to me, and that’s what makes this loss so tough.

To every single person who has supported me — by grabbing a coffee, stopping for a chat, or simply showing kindness — thank you. Your support has meant more than I can ever express.

Although Tan’s Coffee Box is closing, I want to keep this petition going. This is now about standing up for all independent businesses who are being pushed to the brink by rising licensing fees. No more small, loved local businesses should have to close their doors for this reason.

👉 Please continue to share this petition far and wide.

Share it with friends, family, neighbours, and local community groups. The more voices we gather, the stronger our message becomes — and the harder it is for the council to ignore.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for continuing to stand with independent traders.

Sending love and appreciation always 🤍

Tan x
