Please take a moment to read the following memo from Mirror Lake Board of Directors candidate, Barry L. Williams:
I am running for the Mirror Lake Community Board of Directors as the representative from the Overlook neighborhood. The last election that the Board conducted did not conform to the requirements of the bylaws so new ballots have been sent to all homeowners. If you have not received your new ballot, please contact me or the HOA.
If elected I promise I will keep the Overlook neighborhood informed of the actions of the Board of Directors, I will not be a stranger – you will hear from me from time to time when there is something to report. I will listen to your issues/concerns, bring those concerns to the attention of the Board of Directors, and report back to you regarding the outcome. As one director, I cannot promise that each concern will be acted upon favorably by the Board – WHAT I CAN PROMISE IS THAT YOUR CONCERNS WILL BE HEARD.
IT IS CRITICAL that you vote. As you can see from the ballot sent to your, the Mirror Lake Community is broken into many “neighborhoods.” Each neighborhood has one director on the Board of Directors. However, a minimum of 266 homeowners from the entire Mirror Lake community must vote for the election to be valid. If we do not get at least 266 homeowners to vote, the Board will simply continue the tenure of those in office. So, please vote for your choice of candidates and if your choice is not listed on the ballot write in the name.
It does not matter which neighborhood you live in – if we do not get a total of 266 votes the Board will not seat any new directors. The rule is foolish because a homeowner cannot vote for a representative outside of their neighborhood but a total of 266 votes from the entire community must be submitted for any new director to be seated. SO, even if 100% of your neighbors vote for a particular candidate but we fall short of the 266 overall Mirror Lake homeowners needed to make an election valid – YOUR VOTE WILL NOT COUNT AND YOUR COMMUNITY’S SELECTED REPRESENTATIVE WILL NOT BECOME YOUR CHOSEN REPRESENTATIVE.
