On April 15, 2026, Hollywood's City Commission voted 5-2 to move boat boundaries CLOSER — from 300 to 218 yards — directly over active snorkeling sites. Buoys are not installed yet. There is still time to change this.

Subject: Please Support Kellie's Law — Proposed 400-Yard Boating Safety Bill for Broward County

Dear Members of the Broward Legislative Delegation,

Two experienced divers with dive flags have been killed by boats in our waters in the past month. I am urging your support for Kellie's Law — a proposed local bill that would establish a 400-yard vessel exclusion zone and require mandatory boating safety education for ALL operators in Broward County. This bill would save lives. Please champion this measure.

Subject: Two Deaths. Please Correct Our Boat Boundary Now.

Dear Mayor, Commissioners and City Staff,

Two experienced divers with dive flags have been killed by boats in South Florida waters in the past month. I am urging you to correct our boat boundary and place it past active snorkeling sites before more tragedies occur. A boundary at 218 yards places boats directly over our most popular snorkeling destinations. Please act now before it's too late!  This ordinance can still be changed, and you have the power to do it. Our community is counting on you to keep our waters safe.
