The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) is quietly stripping away health and drug coverage for over 30,000 Floridians. They are changing the requirements for ADAP from 400% at or below the federal poverty level to just 130%.

The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) is a statewide, federally funded prescription medication program for low-income people living with HIV. This program provides access to medications to eligible clients either directly or by purchasing health insurance that includes coverage for HIV medications.

Governor Ronald DeSantis and Antonio Dawkins with the FDOH have made extreme changes without appropriate notice that have drastically cut access to the Florida ADAP program.

It is essential that we call on Governor DeSantis and the Florida Department of Health to halt any changes that would restrict or remove access to this critical program. We must advocate for the health and well-being of Floridians living with HIV. Don’t let them do this in silence.
