Proposing to sell off  13.1 acres runs against our Municipal Plan 2018. It is protected agricultural land. 

The very reason the 
Municipal Plan 2018 was created, in part, is to protect our town’s highly valuable land resources- this is why zoning is important, and create strategic mapping for development. 

The sale proposal runs against the very Mission of the FFC- which is promoting “afforestation”- which means creating a forest out of land that was barren. This is a high viz acreage, that can be used by the FFC to showcase the very nature of their business. An Urban Forest. Create ecotourism, experiential learning opportunities for students, future forestry research centre and ultimately new and diversified revenue streams for the FFC.
