Dr. Jimenez did not have to endure a public firing—and in some ways, we prevailed. But let’s be honest: we also failed him.
We failed to stop the toxic culture that has taken over Hacienda La Puente Unified. We didn’t act fast enough or loud enough to protect a leader who brought national recognition, expanded opportunities, and fought every day for our students.
Now, Dr. Jimenez is leaving HLPUSD—he will be the next superintendent of Culver City. A district gaining a proven, award-winning leader… while ours loses one.
And he’s not the only one. Others are leaving too. This is the beginning of a mass exodus—a direct result of a hostile, retaliatory environment created by this board majority.
The price of this loss isn’t measured in board politics. The price is paid by our students.
This is what happens when power games are put before people. When fear and silence are allowed to take root. Let this be a wake-up call. We must keep fighting to protect what’s left—and to rebuild what’s been lost.
📢 Thank you to everyone who stood up. Please stay engaged.
This fight is not over.
