Hello everyone,
I want to thank each and every one of you for signing and supporting the petition to protect the Boambee koala habitat from the proposed road works under DA 0656/24DA. Your support has made a real impact.
On 17 November, I received confirmation from the City of Coffs Harbour that our concerns will now be formally heard by the Mayor and Councillors. This step only occurred because so many of you took the time to make submissions and stand up for our local koalas.
Here is the key information from Council:
DA 0656/24DA – Subdivision (11 lots) and new road construction will be considered at the Council Meeting on 27 November 2025 at 5:00 pm.
The meeting is open to the public, with seating available from 4:45 pm.
The meeting will also be livestreamed online for anyone who wants to watch remotely:

Council have provided a contact for further questions:
Gary Cheney – 02 6648 4648
This is an important development. It means the matter is now in front of elected Councillors, who are responsible for deciding whether the development proceeds as proposed or whether changes must be made to protect the mapped koala corridor.
I’ll continue to provide updates as we approach the meeting date, including anything further the community can do to ensure our voices are heard.
Thank you again for standing up for our local wildlife and helping keep this issue in the public spotlight. Your support truly matters.
