A Roundhouse for East Hastings

Thank you one and all for supporting this petition. Amazing to see it near one thousand signatures.
35 years ago, UBC architectural student Linda Moore heroically risked arrest and stood in front of a demolition crew to prevent them from destroying the Roundhouse, now well-known as a thriving community and arts centre in the heart of Yaletown.
This is her inspiring story:

35 years later we are faced with a similar battle to protect and preserve the irreplaceable art deco-styled Salvation Army Temple. Hastings Street deserves a Roundhouse of its very own, and this special building would be a perfect fit.
The next step is to write a firm but polite message to the three BC government ministers listed below, requesting that the imminent destruction of the Salvation Army Temple be halted, and that its preservation and restoration as a community and arts centre for East Hastings be given a priority.
