Every PA resident deserves the chance to build a family. But right now, IVF is slipping even further out of reach.

The costs are crushing — over $20,000 for a single round — and insurance companies are not required to help. Now, after Alabama’s Supreme Court ruling treated embryos like children, shutting down IVF services overnight, access could be threatened here too.

Pennsylvania lawmakers are taking action. Senator Amanda Cappelletti and Representative La'Tasha Mayes have introduced bills to require insurance coverage for IVF and fertility treatments, while Senator Lisa Boscola is pushing a second bill to mandate coverage for infertility diagnoses and care. These protections are urgent to make IVF affordable and to defend it from future legal attacks.

This is not a partisan fight. It is about health care, dignity, and the right to build a family without fear.

We call on the Pennsylvania Senate and Insurance Committee and the full legislature to act now. Pass these bills. Protect IVF access. Give Pennsylvania families a real future.
