Protect Adult Access to Vaping Products While Strengthening Youth Protections
The Issue
I switched from disposable vapes to a refillable system to be more responsible, and I’m concerned about where current regulations are heading.
I am an adult consumer who has chosen to use vaping products as an alternative to traditional cigarettes. For many people like me, switching to vaping is not about convenience or trend—it is about making a conscious effort to move away from something known to be more harmful.
Many adults have transitioned to refillable and reusable vaping systems to be more responsible and reduce reliance on disposable products. However, current and proposed regulations risk removing not only youth-targeted products, but also the options that responsible adults rely on—especially flavored e-liquids that help many stay away from cigarettes.
While protecting youth is extremely important, broad restrictions on flavors and products can unintentionally impact responsible adults who are not the intended target of these policies. Removing these options does not eliminate demand—it shifts it toward unregulated markets where product quality and safety are less certain.
A more balanced approach is needed.
I respectfully ask lawmakers and regulators to consider policies that:
Strengthen enforcement of age verification laws
Increase penalties for retailers who sell to minors
Focus on illegal and non-compliant products entering the market
Preserve access to regulated, quality-controlled vaping products for adults
It is possible to protect youth while still allowing responsible adults to have access to safer alternatives. Policies should reflect both priorities—not force one at the expense of the other.
Please support a fair, balanced approach to vaping regulation that protects public health without unnecessarily limiting adult choice.
Now is the time to take a balanced approach before responsible adult options are lost.
