Le but de cette pétition n'est pas d'éradiquer l'utilisation de l'intelligence artificielle, mais de protéger les artistes. Les domaines concernés sont les arts visuels, mais également la musique et la littérature.

L'intelligence artificielle (IA) progresse rapidement en tant que technologie, offrant de nombreuses possibilités puissantes et merveilleuses pour l'ensemble de l'humanité - allant de l'amélioration de la médecine à l'amélioration de la qualité des produits et bien plus encore. Malheureusement, l'IA a aussi le pouvoir d'éliminer complètement le besoin d'art et d'artistes humains, mettant des centaines de milliers, voire des millions de personnes au chômage, et nous transformant tous en consommateurs d'art mécanisé sans âme.

Vous pouvez le constater aujourd'hui avec les livres audios gratuits de Google, les images gratuites générées par l'IA de DALL-E et bien plus encore. Différents bureaux des droits d'auteur sont déjà bombardés d'entreprises et de personnes qui tentent de protéger l'art de l'IA comme s'il était créé par l'homme. Si cela se produit - si l'art des machines bénéficie des mêmes protections que l'art humain - il n'y aura aucune chance pour l'écrivain, le narrateur, le chanteur, le danseur, l'acteur, le musicien ou toute autre personne humaine. D'ici 5 à 10 ans, l'IA sera bien meilleure que l'homme dans tous les domaines de la création artistique. Les artistes humains risquent de s'éteindre.

Cette pétition est le début d'un effort visant à protéger tout l'art et les artistes humains de la grande menace que représente l'IA.

Ce que nous proposons est une simple modification du droit d'auteur américain et des lois connexes, de sorte qu'AUCUNE ŒUVRE D'ART CRÉÉE PAR L'IA NE POURRA JAMAIS ÊTRE PROTÉGÉE (COPYRIGHT), pour quelque raison que ce soit. De cette façon, la technologie peut progresser comme il se doit, mais les artistes humains seront les seuls à pouvoir protéger leur art, et donc à en tirer profit. Mais cela n'est pas suffisant en soi. Notre proposition comporte cinq points essentiels :

Ce sera un combat difficile. Les entreprises prétendront que cela entrave le progrès technologique et nuit aux consommateurs. De nombreux artistes s'y opposeront également. Par exemple, les auteurs de livres pourraient vouloir vendre des livres audio d'IA faciles et bon marché, au lieu de devoir payer un narrateur humain. Mais c'est là le problème : si nous ne faisons pas cela ensemble, en nous protégeant tous, aucun d'entre nous ne survivra longtemps sur le marché de l'art du futur.

Leider hat die KI auch die Macht, den Bedarf an menschlicher Kunst und Künstlern vollständig zu beseitigen, Hunderttausende, wenn nicht sogar Millionen von Menschen arbeitslos zu machen und uns alle zu seelenlosen Konsumenten mechanisierter Kunst zu machen.

Das können Sie heute an Googles kostenlosen Hörbüchern, den kostenlosen KI-generierten Bildern von DALL-E und vielem mehr sehen. This petition is the beginning of an effort to protect all art and human artists from the great threat posed by AI.

What we are proposing is a simple amendment to US copyright and related laws, so that NO ARTWORK CREATED BY AI CAN EVER BE COPYRIGHTED, for any reason. In this way, technology can progress as it should, but only human artists will be able to protect their art, and thus benefit from it. But that in itself is not enough. Our proposal has five main points:

1. Make it illegal to copyright works created entirely, largely or substantially by machines (AI or otherwise).
