Preliminary hearing tomorrow (6/12)- Peaceful Gathering at the Courthouse

I rushed to the District Attorney’s office in Jonesborough during lunch. I got there 4 minutes after they closed for lunch, but the nice lady let me in anyhow and said she’d get my paperwork to Mr. Baldwin. I delivered a cover letter, the petition, a 40-page printout, front and back, of the 846 comments posted at the petition site, and 130 pages of 7-pt font, two-columns per page, front and back of the signatures. (After removing duplicates, there were 14,797). Court convenes for their preliminary hearing at 9:00 Wednesday, June 12, but we don’t know when their cases will be called. It’s just whenever it shows up in the docket. Let’s meet at 8:00 on the east side of the courthouse (to the right if you are looking at the front doors). We’ll discuss then the best place to stand, walk with our signs, etc. We cannot do it at the front doors and may have to walk down to the highway if they ask us to. If you are planning on going into the courthouse at any time, do not attempt to bring in any purse or bag, and be prepared to go through the metal detectors.
