Happy New Year, Team Coleman family. Leonard and I are starting our 2022 with the first hearing on his Rule 32 on Jan 5th, which will determine if Judge Jay York will grant him an evidentiary hearing. Towards the end of 2021, I came across a 2016 blog post written by Leonard’s original trial judge, Former Judge Rusty Johnston. In this post, Johnston commented, “The Black Lives Matter narrative is a lie, is not true, is a fraud and we must confront this lie every time we hear it…”

If this is the case, I wonder what was going through Judge Johnston’s mind as he presided over Leonard Coleman’s 2011-2012 trial, which ultimately led to his wrongful conviction. As Leonard’s first hearing date approaches, please continue to share his story, shine a light on the corruption taking place in Mobile County, and write letters to Judge Jay A. York, respectfully requesting that he exonerate Leonard.
