I just wanted to thank our Cariboo MLA Lorne Doerkson and of course all of you who have signed.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Lorne (over the phone) after sending him an email describing the issue our communities are facing with this power line. He was very understanding of our concerns and told me he would be approaching BC Hydro personally to get answers as to why the Mica Creek line cannot be used.

I've been trying to get more detailed answers from their public relations contact (Susan Edgell) but she has been outright ignoring my inquiries. Let's see if Lorne has more success and we can persuade BC Hydro to allow Taseko to use the Mica Creek line, something that they even prefer to do as it is closer.

Right now BC Hydro is not addressing the fact that the North Thompson corridor will require more power anyways if the mine is approved and the communities expand with temporary and permanent workers. The Mica line, or upgrading their current 138kV from Kamloops and Nicola stations make more sense for the long term demands of the area.

Let's see if we get some more answers and maybe a permanent resolution to this issue.
