My life is a daily struggle. I can barely afford groceries and my mom battles stage 4 cancer. My dad, too, suffers from heart disease. Our family sinks deeper into this whirlpool of physical and financial adversities every day, desperate for help. We, and many Californians like us, are on the brink of despair. Yet help lies beyond our borders, in a nation known for its commitment to comprehensive healthcare: Canada. As a Californian being part of Canada would mean affordable healthcare - an opportunity at a better life. According to a study by the Commonwealth Fund, Canada ranks far above the US in healthcare access, equity and outcomes. It is this life-saving support we seek.

Advocating California's secession from the United States and its integration into Canada may appear unconventional, but it is an appeal for humaneness, for the right to healthcare that should be accessible to all.
