Promote the Shift to Cleaner, More Efficient Energy Sources

The Issue

For all of us, the energy we consume is a fundamental part of our daily lives. Yet, the harsh reality is that our current dependence on destructive and inefficient energy sources is not only causing harm to our planet, but also exacerbating social injustices through unequal access and distribution.

In 2020, fossil fuels accounted for 84% of the world's energy (BP Statistical Review of World Energy, 2021). The relentless burning of these fuels leads to the release of harmful greenhouse gases that directly contribute to climate change. On the other hand, renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and hydropower generate power without releasing these pollutants. Transitioning to these cleaner energy sources is not only an environmental necessity, but also a social obligation, as the current energy distribution system disproportionately affects marginalized communities.

Yet, in the face of this growing urgency, we all play a significant role in promoting change. That's why we need to raise our voices for a necessary transition to cleaner, efficient energy sources. Together, let's urge lawmakers, corporations, and individuals alike to seriously consider the energy we consume, where it comes from, and the effects of its production.

The time for a fair, sustainable energy future is now. Sign this petition to stand up for the shift towards cleaner, more efficient energy sources.

Help us spread the word. Join us in spreading awareness about the true costs and benefits of not just fossil fuels, but also of a vast variety of other energy sources, from the centerpieces of energy alternatives to the more experimental takes on the topic. A brief rundown of the current states of these other options can be found below in our curated selection of posters. Share them, or at the very least read them yourselves; the important thing is to stay informed.
