Promote mental health awareness in the workplace
The Issue
Mental Health
Mental health is an essential part of a person’s overall well-being, yet it is often ignored in our society. Many people experience stress, anxiety, and depression due to academic pressure, financial problems, family conflicts, and social expectations. Despite these challenges, many individuals hesitate to talk about their struggles because of stigma and fear of being judged. As a result, mental health issues continue to grow silently.
According to the World Health Organization, mental health is a basic human right and is important for living a productive life. When mental health problems are not addressed, they can affect a person’s performance in school or work, relationships, and physical health. Social media also contributes to this issue by creating pressure to compare oneself with others, leading to low self-esteem.
To address mental health issues, society must promote awareness, understanding, and support. Encouraging open conversations and providing access to counseling services can help individuals feel less alone. In the Philippines, the National Center for Mental Health offers support for those in need.
By breaking stigma and supporting one another, we can build a healthier and more caring community.
