Vape stores in our community are becoming a concerning issue. Living in Federal Hill, Bristol, CT, I have seen firsthand how these establishments can alter the character of our charming neighborhood. These stores, which seem to pop up overnight, are more than just an eyesore—they have the potential to negatively impact our property values.

One of the most significant concerns is the health implications associated with vaping. Many vape products contain nicotine, a highly addictive substance that poses significant health risks to our community. Allowing these shops in close proximity to our homes makes it alarmingly easy for our adolescents to form vaping addictions, putting their health and futures at risk.

Furthermore, vape shops have a very limited customer base, which does not serve the majority of our community members. While other businesses could provide services or products that cater to a broader audience, these shops primarily attract a niche market, contributing little to the community as a whole.

To preserve the integrity and charm of Federal Hill, and to protect the health of our residents, particularly our young people, it's essential that we take action to prevent vape shops from opening in our area. By doing so, we aim to maintain the value of our properties, the health of our community, and the safety of our youth.
