The Issue

Dear Animal Defenders, Nature Lovers and Animal Rights Supporters,

The Kingdom of North Barchant calls for attention to the extremely brutal practice of traditional dolphin killing that still takes place in the Faroe Islands. The deliberate and merciless extermination of these intelligent and sensitive creatures is unacceptable and does not meet modern standards in relation to animals.

For many years, environmental activists from all over the world have been striving to stop the bloody tradition of killing dolphins in the Faroe Islands (grindadrap). We have sent official requests personally to Her Majesty Queen Margaret II of Denmark, the Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands Aksel V. Johannesen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the head of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency Lars Hindkjær. However, they were ignored. In this regard, we call on the world community to unite in the fight for the rights of dolphins.

Dolphins are one of the most amazing creatures in the natural world, with a high level of intelligence and complex social structures. They are not only key members of the marine ecosystem, but also a source of joy and wonder for many people around the world.

However, in the Faroe Islands there is still a macabre tradition known as the "city bloodbath" or "grindadrap" in which hundreds of dolphins are captured and killed each year for food or entertainment. The killing process is extremely brutal and causes untold suffering for these beautiful sea creatures.

We urge the government of the Faroe Islands to take immediate action to completely ban the traditional killing of dolphins. We propose the following measures:

The introduction of legislation prohibiting the extermination of dolphins in the Faroe Islands in any form and under the guise of "traditional hunting".
Development and promotion of alternative and sustainable food sources for the local population to reduce dependence on dolphin hunting.
Educational programs and information campaigns that will expose the cruelty of this practice and promote awareness of the protection and conservation of wildlife.

We believe that a ban on the traditional killing of dolphins in the Faroe Islands will help preserve the unique biodiversity of the region and demonstrate to the world community a peaceful and more ethical way of coexisting with animals.

Thanks for your attention and support.
