Hello everyone!
Thank you again for your support in this issue! Since this summer, I have collaborated with Karrington Garrett, the Director of Sustainability for SGA, and María del Mar Ceballos, Director of Sustainability for KSU.
After lots of her hard work and persistance, Karrington Garrett happily sent me this email:
"Hi Nelly,
I did not get the chance to let you know that SGA and I drafted up a resolution addressing the confetti issue you brought to me, and was able to pass it unanimously! So our president just sent it to the administration including the university president Kathy Schwaig. While I will be graduating this semester, Maria said she could possibly get a meeting with the director of the bookstore, so perhaps you could follow up on that. However, I'm hopeful about the increased awareness and progression of the issue.
By the way, I had to do some strategic phrasing at the advisement of multiple administrators, as they all agreed a "ban" would be hard to enforce, but I still included the same general concept and ideas/alternatives. Also, your petition has over 500 signatures now and was also sent to the administration!"

Thank you all,
