The Issue

I am a hardworking delivery driver, and like many others, I have been significantly impacted by an alarming trend. Hackers are using illegal bot applications to gain an unfair advantage in the delivery industry, particularly on platforms like Spark and Walmart. This is not only unethical but also undermines the principles of fair competition that our economy is built upon.

These bot apps allow users to snatch up deliveries before anyone else has a chance, leaving honest workers struggling to make ends meet. According to a report by The Verge (2020), these types of apps have become increasingly prevalent across various gig economy platforms.

They are using stolen identities and bypassing the background check to make multiple fake accounts. Again, Walmart is aware of this, several times when these drivers were asked to prove identification they either did not have an ID to provide or their name did not match the account they were using. These are the people that are delivering your goods to your home…

The impact on drivers who rely on these jobs for their livelihoods is devastating. The income of many hard-working individuals has been drastically reduced due to this unfair practice. It's time we stand up against this exploitation and demand change.

We call upon the management of Spark and Walmart to take immediate action against the use of such bot apps that steal deliveries from deserving workers. We urge them to implement stricter measures that ensure fairness in job allocation, protect their workforce, and maintain the integrity of their services.

Spark is aware of the problem we are facing. Walmart is aware what we are facing and they refuse to get involved. These “bots” are aware of what they are doing and have no remorse. They are aware that Walmart will not stop them and they are comfortable with their immoral and illegal actions. There has also been an increase in intimidation strategies to scare off the other drivers and enough is enough! Walmart and Spark need to be held accountable.

Please sign this petition if you believe in fair opportunities for all workers and want to support us in ending this unjust practice.
