Hi Bryan,
Decisions to close any retail location are never taken lightly. We are sensitive to the impact this can have on the communities we serve which is why we provide advance warning.

Unfortunately, due to a variety of commercial reasons, our retail location in Port Rowan is no longer financially viable.

Your frustration following the local news report is very valid. It made it seem we were out of touch - not knowing where Port Rowan is! The journalist was very selective with our statement, leaving out the part where we acknowledged that the closest gas and convenience would be under 10 kilometres away in Walsingham. We also mentioned the larger centres - as many cottagers come through those towns during the summer.

We appreciate that this station is important to those in the community and understand that people will be disappointed with the closing.

Parkland enjoys us supporting the umbrella of companies, but they won’t invest in maintaining the Port Rowan location that requires new holdings tanks etc.  This appears to be a bad business plan that failed to maintain our local station.
