I am reaching out to you in an effort to ensure you understand the impact of closing the only gas station in the Port Rowan/Longpoint area.  

I’m not sure you’re aware of the importance and significance of your current location here.  

Longpoint is Biosphere that draws a huge following of tourism.  We also have two provincial camp grounds and many private trailer parks that are dependent on your current location in Port Rowan.

Many of our seasonal folks rely on this location for gas and propane for heat during our many power outages we have throughout the year.  

At our house we palliative family on oxygen that we depend on this location for fuel for the generator.  How can a family leave a palliative person to drive 15 min each way for fuel.  

The Port Rowan station I understand requires some investment to update the tanks.  As a community that has supported your company for many many years we expect that regular maintenance is calculated into your business plan.

The Port Rowan location also is the most strategic location compared to alternative locations.

The news has started to cover our concerns.  We have started a petition to gain exposure and attention and the first day we have reached 500 signatures.  This is a tool to help you understand the level of support and reliance on this station within the community.

Please take some time to reconsider the negative impact you will do to our community, and the health risks this will cause on our locals and tourists.
