STOP private car parking companies giving fines to people who are in supermarket car parks, hospital car parks, paying for parking in car parks! Did you know that they earn over £1 billion a year on fining people who use their car parks in good faith. These kind of car parks are everywhere now outside your supermarket in the hospital. The land is owned by private companies who make a killing on fining People who are using their car parks because they have to to get to the supermarket or to the hospital appointment.

They are a private entity. There is no current legislation, With rules and boundaries that they need to adhere to. Last year, the government looked into giving this sector rules and regulations, but it was found to be very difficult to enforce and when the parking companies complained, the government decided to put this on the back burner while they do more investigations.

This is just not good enough there are thousands of innocent people every day getting fines in these car parks through no fault of their own.

In my case, we decided to use the supermarket carpark at 6:37 am as the supermarket was open at 6 am over the Christmas period. A couple of weeks later, we received a fine through the post. Since then, I have contacted the supermarket manager, The local MP, And made an appeal to the car parking company. The supermarket manager was very helpful and sent an email to the car company asking them to cancel the fine. The car parking company came back with no they will not, According to them, people are not meant to be in the car park before 7 am 

I am still waiting on the appeals process as I investigated this more. I was absolutely appalled by the situation and how these companies can earn over £1 billion a year and not be properly regulated with set amounts for fines and set amounts for progression of the fines, including going to court and getting Fines of thousands of pounds and court orders and bailiffs involved,
