We are Star Citizen backers, players, and long-time supporters who care deeply about the future of the Banu Merchantman.

For many of us, the BMM is not just another ship. Since it was first introduced as part of the $27 million stretch goal in 2013, the Banu Merchantman has become one of the most iconic and anticipated ships in the game.

Over the years, we have watched many other ships move forward while the Merchantman has remained unfinished. We understand that Star Citizen is an extremely complex project, and we know that a ship like the BMM is not simple to build. We would like to see a real production plan, with understandable milestones and honest communication about what still needs to be done before the ship can finally become flight-ready.

The Banu Merchantman represents a very special part of Star Citizen’s identity. It is a symbol of the game’s original ambition: a universe where different cultures, professions, ships, and playstyles all matter. Finishing it would not only honor one of CIG’s long-standing commitments, but also restore confidence among many backers who still believe in that vision.

We are not asking CIG to cut corners. We are asking CIG to show that legacy ships like the Merchantman have not been forgotten.
