Safeguarding and wellbeing at the NMC

We met with Paul Rees and his team yesterday at the NMC

We challenged the engagement they have made with us to date - there have been a lot of meetings, with them informing us of the improvements they are making and little listening and learning from our lived experience

We are trying to change that

Whilst the NMC teams has made improvements to their safeguarding teams and have secured funding for more resources to navigating the wellbeing of registrants under FtP we still feel there is a long way to go for them to truly understand the impact of a referral and their role in ensuring registrants' mental health is kept at the forefront of their risk assessments

We will keep trying to help them improve
