Prioritize Interview Schedules for Immigrant Visas in US Embassy Manila

The Issue

I am a spouse of a US Citizen, and I am starting this petition to express my concerns regarding the current visa processing backlogs at the US Embassy. I understand the challenges and complexities involved in visa processing, but I feel compelled to bring attention to the profound impact it has on families waiting anxiously for reunification.

My husband and I have been navigating the visa application process, and the delays have created an immense burden on our lives. The uncertainty and prolonged separation have taken a toll on us, in more ways than I could have foreseen and count. I want to share our story, not as an isolated case, but as a representative of the countless families experiencing similar hardships due to the processing delays as it has been affecting us financially, physically, emotionally and psychologically.

I fully recognize the challenges faced by the US Embassy in managing a high volume of visa applications, particularly given the circumstances of the Philippines with an exceeding number of immigration cases, especially in the United States.

The unrest in countries such as Palestine and Ukraine definitely adds to the strain of immigration and border issues that the United States is facing. However, I believe that our collective efforts can contribute to finding solutions that alleviate the strain on families while maintaining the necessary security measures and lawful immigration.

I urge the embassy to review its current processes and consider implementing measures to expedite visa processing without compromising security. The impact of these delays extends beyond paperwork; it affects the lives of real people, separating spouses, parents, and children, and hindering the ability of families to thrive and contribute positively to society and to just live their lives together as a unit.

I am humbly requesting your support, assistance and consideration in expediting the processing of immigrant visa applications  - especially those of immediate family members. Additionally, I encourage the embassy to explore innovative approaches to streamline the visa application process, such as increasing staff, optimizing technology, or collaborating with relevant agencies to find practical solutions. The use of artificial intelligence is becoming a widely adapted avenue for many corporations and governments and perhaps some aspects of the immigration process can utilize this emerging technology successfully, too.

Your attention to this matter is crucial, and I appreciate your dedication to facilitating the reunification of families. I believe that by working together, we can address the visa processing backlogs and help alleviate the emotional distress faced by many.

I appreciate you taking the time our of your day to read this, done so in the hopes of appealing for myself and many others. I look forward to a positive resolution and a timely reunification with my family.

Thank you so much and I hope we can be reunited with our loved ones as soon as possible.
