According to the CBC, the waitlist for a family doctor in Canada can reach up to 6 Million people at it's highest. In addition to this, some people can be on these waitlists for upwards of 36 months. Although there are inevitable circumstances that make this an extremely difficult problem to completely solve, there are changes that need to be made.

It's not unusual for Canadian Armed Forces members and their families to be relocated every 2-3 years to different bases around our great country. But due to this, it can be almost impossible to keep/access a family doctor at this rapid rate of relocation. 

Additionally, after Veterans are discharged from their military service, they are placed into this waitlist after their healthcare transitions back into the public sector. Due to this, they can go up to 3 years without a doctor, directly after finishing their service to our country. This enatils that if they have an ailment from their time in the military, or something unrelated, their only 2 options are to go to the emergency room, or to suck it up.

These Veterans are heroes to our country and they deserve to be treated like such. Becuase of this, we need your support to fast track active and retired Canadian Armed Forces members, and their immediate family members to the top of their respective waitlist for a family doctor.
