What a great turn out last Saturday!

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us as we addressed the bridge closure. 

Thank you to the local Councillors and Cormac Devlin TD who were in attendance. It was great to be able to discuss this and other issues around the safe routes to school programme.

We have since been given an official start date of 22nd April 2025 which is a great result. We are yet to find out how long it may take for the works to be completed and for the bridge to be reopened but things are moving which is a good start.

While the priority is reopening, there is a longer term view to replacing the bridge making it safer, not slippery, and accessible, flat.

Now the focus is on ensuring the start of the work is not delayed, as unfortunately this is very common in my experience. 

After the event it was wonderful to enjoy the sunshine while hearing about the community garden planned next to the Men's shed in Rockfield Park. We can all look forward to it's development.
