It’s so disappointing that there have been zero changes made within the judiciary.  Even after years of campaigning, practices remain outdated and lives are still being unnecessarily ruined.  Just take the recent case of Ellie Yarrow.  After enduring years of abuse, her abuser made the threat any mother dreads that he will take her child away and not because she is a bad mother but because he can, he’s an abuser and wants revenge at whatever cost.

IWMM support Ellie, along with the 1000’s of other families affected by proceedings that actually just escalate already hostile situations.

I have been working (slowly) with Ministry of Justice on court reform however the area I’m involved in is digitalising these practices.  This will not change outdated views, an engrained culture and processes that leave the vulnerable in a no win situation.

To get the change needed....we need your voices!  

We need you to share, sign, talk about these issues.  We need to make it the norm that these practices are outrageous and that we will not - as a nation - accept these constant injustices.

I really can’t stress enough the importance of everyone SPEAKING OUT and SHARING.  We need to change the narrative as this is just not good enough. 

At the moment the court process wins due to its secrecy.  This is unacceptable.
