Please help children and young people with life-threatening epilepsy, still denied NHS access to medical cannabis, by taking a moment to email your MP using this link.

For some, medical cannabis is the only medicine that has been able to control their seizures.  In 2018, medical cannabis under prescription was legalised, a move in large part due to the campaigning work of my daughter Hannah Deacon, whose son Alfie, then aged 6, was suffering up to 150 life-threatening seizures a week.

Alfie has the benefit of an NHS prescription, but many other similarly affected families are forced to pay at great cost or go without the medicine.  Hannah continued to fight for these other families until her untimely death last year, aged just 45, from cancer.

In Hannah’s memory, I’m determined to keep up the fight.

We are calling for the Government to fund an observational trial for the cohort of children and young people who were at the heart of the law change, but now have to pay privately at great cost.

This would allow these children and young people to receive this life-changing medication at no cost, while other planned trials, which will take years and are unsuitable for those already on medication, go ahead.

You can help by emailing your MP today to ask them to support the new Hannah Deacon Campaign for Access to Medical Cannabis and demand Government funding for an Observational Trial. We even have a simple template you can use here.

Hannah never gave up, and neither will we.

Thank you for supporting our campaign. Even if you have emailed your MP before, please consider doing it again.  Every email sent makes a real difference, and it only takes a moment.
