At the outset congratulations for all your acheivements. You have taken our Country to a new height. We feel proud to have you as our Prime Minister. We wish you success in all your endevaours i.e "Make in India", " Swatch Bharat" "Digital India", "Skill India", "Startup India", "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao", "Namami Gange", "Jan Dhan Yojna" etc.....

 

The Senior Citizen who have retired from Govt jobs get very good pension but as you know there is another section of Sr. Citizen who do not get any pension or get a small pension which is not sufficient for their bread and butter. 

This section of Sr. Citizen are only dependant from the small amount of bank interest they get against the deposit of their PF, Gratuity or whatever small amount they could save from their small salary. But this section is in deep financial trouble due to bank interest going down day by day.

 

Our humble request to you to please look into the acute financial crunch the Senior Citizens are facing today.

 

Our request to your good office is as follows :----

 

1) Request you to pay Interest on SCSS (Senior Citizen Savings Scheme) in all nationalised banks  atleast to 10 percent at par.  Currently it is paid 8.6 percent. Interest payable quarterly to be paid  monthly. Raise the limit from 15 lacs to 30 lacs. As senior citizens will be able to get Rs 25000 monthly intetest peacefully and gracefully without depending on their children. Dont deduct tax on this income requesting to fill form 15 H etc. The period of investment should be for 15 years and not five years. As the span of life will not be more. 

Pass a resolution to this scheme the interest rates should never be reduced but increased to fight inflation. 

 

2) Raise the limit of Income tax from three lacs to five lacs for SC.  No returns to be filed if your income less than five lacs for SC. If income exceeds 5 lacs you may tax accordingly as they should not be affected by any political weather. 

 

3) Provide medicines to senior citizens on submission of Aadhar card a,  flat 30 percent reduction in the cost of medicines across the country. Similarly all pathalogy checkups,   treatments and operations if any. Specially dental treatment  has become very expensive. Even the medical premiums paid may be reduced accordingly. 

 

After working for three to four decades let us have a some dignity and live a financial troublefree life. We are not asking for any luxury.

 

You will appreciate now a days parents have become a burden to the children and they leave them to fight their own battle. They are career minded and self centered. Senior Citizens are shy to share this fact as they still regard their children and which is their family culture not to give up their children at any cost whatever may be their sufferings.

 

We Senior Citizens have elected you with a hope you will take care of us but you have left us in lurch. Hope you want our votes to continue further this will be an important criteria for any goverment coming in future. Beware the mind sets are changing and Senior Citizens are cursing from their bottom of the heart for this miserable present financial state , which will never go waste.

 

This is a humble request and hope good sense will prevail and you will implement as soon as possible to give a great relief to senior citizens to end their sleepless nights. We have no intentions to offend you, we want to live in peace and with dignity. You are also a senior citizen.

 

We will be very grateful and indebted to you if you can implement the above small request from our end.

 

Hope all senior citizens will agree to this suggestion and keep in mind before casting their valuable vote. Rather than living on false promises.

  The Senior Citizen who are not getting any Pension or are getting nominal pension are finding it difficult to manage their expenses depending only on Bank Interest of their fixed deposit as the bank interest is going down day by day while the prices of essential commodity is sky rocketing.
