This is a petition to have the mayor of Penzance removed from office. 
It has come to light that there were Union Jack  flags flown from flagpoles on Penzance promenade. She made a statement on her Facebook page that stated these were hoisted without permission and that she was working with Cornwall Council to have them removed. A decision she made within hours of hearing about them being hoisted and without consulting the rest of the town councillors. Given the current accomplishments of this country, now is the perfect time to have them flown from these flagpoles, that remain empty for most of the year.

She said that permission was needed from Cornwall council and that Penzance town council are only responsible for the manufacturing and hoisting of the flags that are flown in the summer. 
She had all 18 flags removed under the cover of darkness within 24 hours of them being hoisted.  (02/01/2021). She has stated that they cause her no personal offence, yet went ahead and removed them anyway, even though the general consensus was to have them remain as they look a lot nicer than empty flagpoles. 

Given her position as town mayor, she could have gained this permission with little effort or even suggested it herself, given that the council hoist flags to celebrate Mazey Day. Yet she has gone against the people that she claims to represent, failed to seek the advice of her colleagues so therefore must be held accountable for her actions. This truly shows that she has used her position to make decisions based on her own thoughts with no additional perspective, not the voices of the town and therefore is not fit to represent the whole community as Mayor of Penzance.
