Honorable Sir,

The entire world is grappling with the pandemic of COVID19. across the world thousands of lives have been lost. The doctors are at the forefront of this war unleashed on mankind by coronavirus nCoV 2019. It is a disaster of unprecedented proportions. Lives and livelihoods of millions of people are at stake.
The doctors are risking their lives day in and day out to help people who need their services. In many places they are working with shortages and against heavy odds in the service of our motherland.
One recent report has shocked the collective consciousness of this nation. A young orthopaedist was sacked for allegedly "bringing disrepute to the institution". , He was publicly humiliated and called a thief on Twitter & multiple national daily newspapers by Commissioner, North Delhi Municipal Corporation. Later it emerged that he was punished for distributing protective equipment from donations in his own capacity.
The Medical Superintendent of Hindu Rao Hospital by the approval of Director Hospital Administration, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and Commissioner of North Delhi Municipal Corporation destroyed the career of this young socially concious doctor just because he was helping out other doctors in need when hospitals were facing shortage of Personal Protective Equipment. The bureaucrat commissioner and her accomplices openly issued defamatory and slanderous statements calling him a thief and expressing desire to bring bodily harm to him. They spoiled his entire carreer, social status and even personal life. We can scarcely imagine the extreme mental agony ,distress and unfathomable torture he and his family must have gone through.
He has been humiliated & disgraced in his entire social circle , his patients and before the entire world.
This unconstitutional , colorable ,misuse of power by this senior IAS officer named Ms Varsha Joshi should invite severe punishment for literally destroying the will of these young doctors to fight for the nation from the front against this virus. Such behavior is extremely offensive, unpardonable and unbecoming of a senior public servant who should be duty bound to set a good example to the public.
By her actions, she has lost the moral authority to lead this battle against coronavirus.
Doctors are no thieves. They are fighting for the country everyday. They risk their lives everyday to bring some relief to the patients. They have put their families, parents and children at risk every single day to serve the patients. Every single day the hospital opens all this while when everything else is shut down. We, the citizens of glorious country India, need to step in today to prevent abuse of this bravehearts by armchair administrators who issue diktats from the protective comfort of their homes and offices.
This officer cannot be permitted to lead these young bravehearts in this world against the Coronavirus. We urge his excellency the President to suspend this officer or send her on long leave with immediate effect till the time an independent high level inquiry by high powered committee headed by at least a Supreme Court judge with Members ( Non from MCD or associated organisation) and consisting of 2 retired hon. supreme court judges and 4 members from Different organisations (for example DMA/IMA/UnitedRDA/Youth against crime). The inquiry may be conducted expeditiously so that the justice can prevail. If she is found to be guilty then exemplary punishment must be given and she should be dismissed from IAS services
For the people of this nation and for the sake of justice let accountability be fixed on the person/s responsible for this sorry state of affairs.
