Great News: Government of India Bans 59 Chinese Apps

Dear Friends,

In a welcome development, the Government of India banned 59 Chinese Apps. "The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of the information available they are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order".

While the Apps like Tik Tok are in the list of banned list, Zoom is omitted from the Axe for now. Let's continue to fight until Zoom is also banned for its human rights violations and data security concerns.
