Two volunteers from Greenpeace and The Sea shephard conservation society have been arrested and might get charged with obstruction because they were protesting against the slaughtering of pilot whales, which occurs every year in a grindadrap. Essentially several locals get together to drive and beach pods of pilot whales. Then slaughtering them, for parts and meat. Several hundreds are killed each year in the surrounding areas. 

These horrible and unnecessary acts need to be stopped. They are decreasing the marine life and biodiversity. Pilot whales are the second largest mammal in the dolphin family and are very gentle and playful mammals. They, like all wildlife are very essential to the ecosystem and environment. These vile acts are not necessary for the food industry. Though their government and parliament has allowed it to be legal. How unfair is it that two volunteers who work for a global environment conservancy would be arrested and then tried for a two year sentence just for protesting against this cruel indifference and madness?
