Dear Friends, Thank you for signing the petition to bring Behnam Satah urgently to Australia. As you know, he faces a daily campaign of intimidation and harassment from the guards on Manus. He has received numerous death threats for his role as a witness in the trial of those accused of the murder of Reza Barati, who was his roommate. After receiving constant threats and intimidation he is now experiencing severe, excruciating pain in his heart, accompanied by the loss of function in his left leg and left arm. IHMS, the medical service, has provided Panadol, and this has not improved his condition, it is only getting worse. Every day the pain is increasing and the doses of Panadol are increasing. Recently these symptoms have been intermittently accompanied by an overwhelming feeling of coldness - which is strange in the hot environment of the equator. He is not safe in Papua New Guinea and he is health is deteriorating every day. He urgently needs to be brought to Australia for safety and medical treatment. He cannot remain in PNG. I would be grateful if each of you could write to your local Member of Parliament and/or the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull or ring their office and ask them to intervene and evacuate Behnam Satah without delay. One phone call from the Prime Minister will save this man's life. If he dies we cannot say we did not know he was sick or in danger. We know exactly what is going on.
