The Tony Abbott Government slashed over $435 million in funding away from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency. 

Former Prime Minister Abbott (doesn't that sound great!) was the coal industry's best friend. The coal industry did well with their cheerleader-in-chief at the helm of the Australian Government.
