The Issue
This is a non-partisan petition.
The Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation announced on Thursday May 27 2021 that the remains of 215 children had been discovered at the site of a former residential school within Secwépemc'ulucw, the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc, in the city of Kamloops in British Columbia.
This petition asks Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole, Green Party of Canada Leader Annamie Paul, Minister of Foreign Affairs The Honourable Marc Garneau, and Minister of Indigenous Services The Honourable Marc Miller to submit a surrender to the International Criminal Court for the crime of historical and continued genocide against indigenous people who were within the administration of and the international borders of the nation of Canada. Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. Crimes must be answered for.
For additional context, PM Pierre Trudeau was elected in 1968. In 1969 the Federal Government took over running the Kamloops aboriginal residential school. This would be a meaningful correction for the Trudeau family and for the nation of Canada to ensure that we as nation members are taking a step forward in reconciliation with indigenous people.
I understand how complex the issue is around this and around the legality and submission to the International Court of Justice, however, it is important and without debate that we try as a society to resolve inequities and tragedies against other human beings.

この請願書は、ジャスティン・トルドー首相、NDP党首ジャグメート・シン、保守党党首エリン・オトゥール、カナダ緑の党党首アンナミー・ポール、外務大臣マーク・ガルノー、先住民サービス大臣マーク・ミラーに降伏を求める.カナダ国家の管理下および国境内にいた先住民に対する歴史的および継続的な大量虐殺の罪で国際刑事裁判所に提出。どこでも不正はどこでも不正です。犯罪には答えなければなりません。
補足として、ピエール トルドー首相が 1968 年に選出されました。1969 年には、連邦政府がカムループス先住民寄宿学校の運営を引き継ぎました。保守党のジョー・クラークが一時的に首相になった1978/79年のトルドーの任期の終わりに、その学校は閉鎖されました。これは、トルドー家とカナダ国民にとって、私たち国民が先住民族との和解に向けて一歩前進することを確実にするための有意義な是正となるでしょう。
