To all caring Wirral Voters and supporters of this petition Firstly, may I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the tremendous support you have given to this campaign. Sadly, it has not been enough to sway the current borough administration who have whipped their councillors into voting for closure of Girtrell Court at every opportunity. Most shamefully, councillors have not been allowed to vote with their consciences and hearts on an issue which hits and damages the most vulnerable in our society. All of the carer's concerns have been brushed aside and this precious facility which has the full confidence of its users and carers is destined to close. Compassionate and caring staff will be made redundant and confidence in the service which has been built over many years destroyed at a stroke. Girtrell supporters and the Wirral based supporters of this petition have one more chance to show Wirral Borough Council how unpopular and unnecessary this tawdry and mean spirited closure is. Due wholly to the support you have given it, this petition itself is due to be debated by Wirral Borough Council at 6pm on Monday the 11th July 2016 at Wallasey Town Hall. This is probably our final chance to show the councillors who have inflicted months of doubt, uncertainty and fear on their own citizens (who, due to their 24 /7 caring responsibilities, have a difficult and stressful life without this pain inflicted by a supposedly socialist, caring administration) that we wholeheartedly disapprove of and reject their policy. If you possibly can, please support the debate by joining the campaign's demonstration at Wallasey Town Hall by 17.45 on Monday the 11th July. We need your presence and your voice to remind Wirral Borough Council that the fact that they can railroad through such a damaging policy is an abuse of power which shames them all.
