The Wirral Mayor has approved an extraordinary council meeting tomorrow at Wallasey Town Hall to consider the appalling way in which this issue had been mismanaged by officials and the ruling administration. Apart from a totally flawed process, the main issue is the council plan to hide this cruel austerity measure from the public by delegating the closure decision to the official who proposed it and the councillor who has unwisely invested too much personal, political capital in this farce to change course in the face of the massive support you have given. We must have any decision on respite care made by full council with full personal responsibility taken by each councillor - no seasonal "washing of hands" on this one !!!!
