Living in a peaceful city like Monterey, known for its breathtaking beauty, serene neighborhoods and as a tranquil vacation destination, has always been a matter of pride and joy. It is a place where my parents live, where we enjoy safe walks in the Oak Grove neighborhood, and kids play without fear. The proposal for an arms store within our residential vicinity is a threat to this peace and comfort.

Monterey, has, thankfully, not been a place people associate with violence or fear, so why would we want to provide reasoning and means for anyone to think anything else?

The proposal to introduce an arms store within our neighborhoods does not align with our pursuits for a peaceful and secure environment. With no necessity for civilians to carry guns, we must question the need for such a store in our area. This is not about impacting the right to own a gun, but about ensuring that the store's location is not detrimental to Monterey's peaceful community ethos.

Monterey is a vacation destination, a home to many and a haven of peace to its residents. It is not a lawless land where civilians need to be armed. Let's ensure we maintain this identity and preserve the beauty and peace our beloved city is known for.
