Dear Residents,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my thoughts following the recent meeting at the COA Chamber Council, which I found quite disappointing due to the numerous inaccuracies presented by Advance Housing.
During the discussion, John Lysaught explicitly denied that individuals with a prison background are eligible to apply for housing, despite clear indications in their forms to the contrary. This raises concerns about transparency and accountability.
Additionally, Councilor Sutton compared this proposed development to the Little Grove 14 self-contained units. This comparison seems misplaced, as the two developments are fundamentally different. It appears that some council members may not be fully aware of the significant opposition from Bayonet Head residents regarding this proposal.
It’s worth mentioning that this area was originally designated as an activities center, and the shift towards a block of flats with communal facilities is concerning. This situation bears resemblance to the social housing developments in the UK that have faced challenges related to social violence and substance abuse.
If anyone has information regarding social housing regulations—specifically related to density and location—please share it. It would be beneficial for us to gather the necessary documentation to hold the council accountable.
Thank you for your attention to these critical concerns.
We are having sit down. Contact via above means if interested.
