Prevent the Closure of The Mett Centre in Leicester

The Issue

I live in Leicester, England, I living with long-term mental health issues and ASD. The Mett Centre in Leicester is the only mental health service that has been able to meet my needs and aid in my recovery. For over 17 years, this centre has been open to the people of Leicestershire offering group sessions that promote emotional and social well being. They ensure all person's needs are met by working with other services and organisations across the county.

The closure of The Mett Centre would not only affect me but also countless others who rely on its services for their wellbeing. According to Mind, approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year (source: Mind.org.uk). In England alone, 1 in 6 report experiencing a common mental health problem such as anxiety or depression in any given week (source: Mental Health Foundation). This highlights how crucial centres like The Mett are for communities.

We cannot let this vital resource disappear from our community. We urge those responsible for funding decisions to reconsider their stance on closing down The Mett Centre. It's not just about keeping doors open; it's about preserving a lifeline for those struggling with their mental health.

Please sign this petition today and help us save The Mett Centre - because everyone deserves access to quality mental healthcare when they need it most.
