Prevent the closure of Pollo Sherman or Encourage the Opening of a New Venue
The Issue
Pollo Sherman located at 14519 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, CA 91405 is more than just a restaurant. To me, it is a home away from home. It's a place that has let me find hope in difficult times, recover from operations and mental health challenges with food, and build friendships that could last a lifetime. The staff of Pollo Sherman are more than just employees – they are treasured friends who work tirelessly to provide an atmosphere of comfort and warmth. They've been my silent supporters during the darkest days and the rays of light that have shone brightly on my happiest moments. The food there reminds me of the beauty of life and pushes me to recover from my eating disorder.
Aside from the positivity this place has brought me it has become so many people's safe place, happy place, and a place with endless memories with loved ones.
Shutting down Pollo Sherman would not merely mean losing a local eatery, it would mean snatching away an essential thread in the tapestry of community and friendship woven on Sherman way. Every meal served at Pollo Sherman is more than just a dish; it's an experience of connection and care, a testament to the priceless value of love served in every plate.
According to the Harvard Business Review, local businesses like Pollo Sherman contribute substantially to community well-being by building social connections and fostering a sense of belonging (“Why Supporting Local Businesses is Good for the Community,” Nov. 23, 2020). Moreover, the loss of such a beloved place can significantly impact not only the town's economy but also its social fabric.
Therefore, we need your support in our fight to either stop the owner from closing the restaurant or urge him to reopen in a new location. By signing this petition, you're not just saving a restaurant; you're ensuring the continuity of hope, companionship, and community spirit that Pollo Sherman represents in our lives. Please, sign and help us keep our community intact.
