On Monday, February 9, the Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing and vote on whether to rezone the Carolina Shores Golf Course — a decision that could permanently change our community.
Your voice is more important than ever.
Rezoning would allow high-density residential development, including multi-family housing, and once this land is rezoned, it can never be returned to Conservation and Recreation use.
This is not why most of us chose Carolina Shores as home.
The golf course has long provided open space, peace, and the low-density character that defines our town. A large turnout matters because state law requires zoning decisions to align with the Town’s adopted land use plans and the public interest — and public presence matters when those decisions are made.
This may be our last chance to speak before an irreversible decision.
